UK Study Visa

How to Apply for a UK Student Visa from Pakistan: A Step-by-Step Guide

Applying for a UK student visa involves several key steps. Here’s a simplified guide to help you navigate the process:

Choose Your Course and University

Before applying for a student visa, you need an unconditional offer from a licensed Tier 4 sponsor (a UK-approved university or college). Here’s how:

  • Select your course and university with assistance from HS Consultants (Pvt) Ltd.
  • Submit your application to the university via HS Consultants (Pvt) Ltd.
  • Fulfill any conditions in the conditional offer to secure an unconditional offer.
  • Attend a credibility interview (if required) and pay the initial deposit to the university.

Obtain a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)

To receive your CAS, submit the following documents to your university:

  • Initial deposit payment receipt.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) test report (valid for 6 months).
  • Bank statement and account maintenance certificate (mature for 28 days).
  • Affidavit of support (if funded by parents).
  • Birth certificate and Family Registration Certificate (FRC) to prove your relationship with the sponsor.

The university will issue your CAS after verifying these documents. The CAS includes a unique reference number and details about your course and study duration.

Meet Financial Requirements

You must show evidence of sufficient funds to cover:

  • Tuition fees for the first year of study.
  • Living expenses for up to nine months:
    • £12,006 per year for courses in London.
    • £9,207 per year for courses outside London.

Prepare Your Documents

Ensure you have the following documents ready:

  • A valid passport.
  • CAS reference number and supporting documents.
  • Proof of financial means (bank statements, sponsor letters, etc.).
  • English language proficiency test results (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL).
  • Proof of relationship to sponsor (birth certificate, FRC).
  • TB test certificate.
  • Academic qualifications mentioned in your CAS.
  • Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) payment confirmation.

Take the Tuberculosis (TB) Test

Students from Pakistan must provide a TB-free certificate:

  • Book a test at an approved clinic.
  • Attend the test and obtain the certificate.

Complete the Online Application

With the help of HS Consultants (Pvt) Ltd, complete your visa application online via the UK Visas and Immigration website:

  • Create an account and fill out the Tier 4 (General) student visa form.
  • Pay the visa application fee (£490 as of 2024).

Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)

The IHS gives you access to the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) during your stay.

Book and Attend Your Biometrics Appointment

  • Schedule an appointment at your nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC).
  • Attend with your documents and provide biometric information (fingerprints and photo).

Submit Supporting Documents

Submit your documents either at the VAC or online, as instructed during your application.

Attend a Credibility Interview (if required)

You may need to attend an interview to answer questions about your course, study plans, and intentions.

Wait for a Decision

Visa decisions typically take up to 3 weeks.

Collect Your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)

If approved, you’ll receive a visa vignette (sticker) in your passport. After arriving in the UK, collect your BRP from the designated Post Office within 10 days.

Travel to the UK

With your visa and all preparations complete, you’re ready to begin your studies in the UK!

Key Tips to Remember:

  • Start your application early.
  • Ensure all documents are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Stay in contact with your university and HS Consultants (Pvt) Ltd for support.

By following these steps carefully, you can successfully apply for a UK student visa from Pakistan.
